The TCA Double Drum Flour Coater is a continuous coating machine specially designed for block-shaped, strip-shaped, flaky and irregularly shaped materials, widely used in the pre‑treatment process of prepared foods and fried products. The equipment adopts a dual‑drum collaborative design. Materials are evenly diverted into two drums through a flour bed, undergoing flipping, coating and discharging during drum rotation to achieve efficient and uniform coating. Compared with traditional single‑drum models, the double‑drum structure significantly improves coating efficiency, making it particularly suitable for continuous large‑scale production of medium‑sized materials such as chicken chunks and squid strips. The entire machine is made of food‑grade 304 stainless steel, equipped with a frequency‑controlled speed regulation system and an independent screening device, enabling flexible adaptation to various powder types such as flour, breadcrumbs, tempura powder and mixed powders to meet different product coating requirements.
Product Description
Working Principle & Process Flow
Working Principle:The TCA Double Drum Flour Coater operates on the physical tumbling coating principle. Material is evenly diverted to the two drum inlets via a flour bed conveyor, contacting circulating powder supply as it enters the drums. The drums rotate stably with frequency‑controlled speed, causing the material to tumble and collide continuously, with powder gradually adhering to the material surface. The two drums work collaboratively to significantly increase coating efficiency—after completing the coating process in one drum, the material continues to the second drum for further coating, ensuring uniform coverage and a desirable flaky texture. An independent screening device separates wet flour clumps and large particles in a timely manner, maintaining clean powder circulation. Excess powder on the output belt is returned to the flour bed replenishment system via a recovery mechanism for recycling.
Process Flow:Material feeding → Even diversion via flour bed → Enter double drums (collaborative coating) → Tumbling and rolling coating → Screening to remove large particles → Vibrating discharge → Next process (frying or freezing)
Core Structure
| Component | Material | Function Description |
|---|---|---|
| Double drums | SUS304 stainless steel | Two parallel inclined drums with wave‑shaped or raised inner surfaces, promoting material tumbling and rolling for even coating |
| Drive system | Siemens or domestic frequency converter | Dual‑frequency independent control of drum speed and conveyor belt speed, continuously adjustable |
| Flour bed conveyor | SUS304 stainless steel | Circulates and conveys powder, maintains uniform bottom flour layer thickness; excess powder is recycled via lifting screw |
| Screening device | SUS304 stainless steel | Separates large particles and wet flour clumps generated during production, ensuring smooth powder circulation |
| Vibrating discharge section | SUS304 stainless steel | Equipped with vibration system at discharge end to shake off excess powder, delivering product evenly to next process |
| Dust collection system (optional) | SUS304 stainless steel | Reduces dust emission and maintains a clean workshop environment |
| Control system | PLC + touch screen | Allows setting of drum speed, conveyor speed, coating thickness and other process parameters, supports storage of multiple process recipes |
Key Features
High efficiency with double‑drum collaboration:Two drums operate in parallel, achieving 1.5–2 times the coating efficiency of single‑drum models, ideal for continuous large‑scale production of medium‑sized materials such as chicken chunks and squid strips.
Excellent moisture retention and crispness:The uniform coating protects the product during deep‑frying, locking in internal moisture to keep the meat tender and juicy while developing a golden, crispy crust – preventing the burning that can occur with direct frying.
Natural flaky coating appearance:The inner drum surface features wave‑shaped or raised textures that promote tumbling and collision, achieving a manual‑like coating effect with an ideal golden flaky texture.
Frequency‑controlled speed regulation:Equipped with Siemens or domestic frequency converters, the drum speed and conveyor belt speed are independently adjustable, allowing precise control of coating speed and angle.
Split‑body construction:The equipment adopts a push‑fit locking design that allows easy assembly and disassembly for convenient transport, relocation, and thorough cleaning.
Powder recycling system:Excess powder is recovered via a lifting screw and filtered through a screening device before being recirculated to the replenishment system, achieving high coating rate, high yield and low waste powder, significantly reducing production costs.
Comprehensive hygiene and easy cleaning:The entire machine is made of SUS304 stainless steel, requiring only a few parts to be disassembled for thorough cleaning. Casters are installed at the bottom for easy relocation and cleaning.
Dust‑control environmental protection (optional):The enclosed drum and flour bed structure reduce dust emission; an optional dust collection system further suppresses powder dust.
Application Scenarios
Prepared food processing plants:As a pre‑treatment unit in frying lines, it integrates with batterers, breading machines, fryers, freezers, etc., to form a fully automatic frying production line achieving continuous production from raw materials to finished products.
Fast‑food chain central kitchens:Bulk preparation of fried chicken chunks, crispy chicken, popcorn chicken, etc., with stable coating processes ensuring consistent product quality across all stores.
Seafood processing enterprises:Coating of fish fillets, squid rings, breaded shrimp and other seafood products before frying or freezing.
Frozen food factories:Pre‑coating before entering freezing tunnels to produce frozen prepared foods for end‑user deep‑frying.
Export‑oriented food companies:The entire machine is made of SUS304 stainless steel, complying with FDA, CE and other international food safety certifications, suitable for export to Europe, America, Southeast Asia and other markets.
Pet treat production lines:Pre‑treatment for certain coated pet treats such as coated chicken strips and fish fillet chunks.
