The TCA Battery Mixer is a high‑viscosity slurry preparation equipment specially designed for the prepared food, seafood and fruit/vegetable deep‑processing industries. It is widely used for batch mixing and preparation of tempura batter, flour paste, coating slurry, brine solutions and other products. The machine employs a specially designed agitator combined with a jacketed mixing tank. Through programmable control, it fully automates high‑speed mixing, low‑speed anti‑sedimentation circulation and low‑level alarming. All food‑contact parts are made of food‑grade SUS304 stainless steel. An integrated discharge pump at the bottom allows the mixer to be linked with downstream equipment such as batter applicators and forming machines to create an automatic slurry supply system.
The TCA Battery Mixer is suitable for batters of medium viscosity, such as tempura batter, as well as for high‑viscosity mixtures like the coarse batters used for onion rings and squid rings. It is easy to operate, simple to clean, and produces a lump‑free, uniform slurry, making it an ideal pre‑treatment solution for fast‑food central kitchens, prepared food processing plants and export‑oriented food enterprises.
Working Principle
The TCA Battery Mixer operates on the physical mixing principle that combines mechanical agitation with fluid circulation. Batter powder, water and auxiliary ingredients are added into the jacketed mixing tank according to the process recipe. The specially designed agitator rotates at high speed to shear, disperse and blend the materials, rapidly and uniformly incorporating the powder into the liquid to produce a lump‑free, fine and stable slurry.
For batters that are prone to sedimentation, such as tempura batter, the unit can switch to a low‑speed stirring mode, maintaining a slow circulating flow of the slurry inside the tank to prevent solid particles from settling. This ensures that the batter delivered to the downstream batter applicator has a consistent solids concentration and stable viscosity.
The mixing tank is provided with a jacket, which can be used to maintain the slurry temperature by adding ice chips or circulating a coolant (glycol or chilled water), keeping the batter within the optimal temperature range of 10‑20℃. The low‑temperature environment effectively inhibits fermentation and spoilage, extends the usable life of the batter, and promotes a crisp, evenly colored coating on the final fried product.
At the outlet, the machine is equipped with a discharge pump that can automatically supply batter to an overhead batter curtain, a batter applicator or a dipping tank. The entire unit is controlled by a PLC with a touch screen interface. Operators can pre‑set parameters such as high‑speed mixing time, low‑speed stirring intervals, holding temperature and low‑level alarm set‑points. The machine then executes all steps automatically, significantly reducing manual labour requirements.
